Friday, February 5th, 2010

What’s Green and White, and causes a blur at the oval?

Sure… there’s the green and white flag but there’s also Rip Michel’s green, white, and black iDevAffiliate sponsored winning car :)

Congrats to Rip Michels and the iDevAffiliate racing team for his awesome win in the Jan 29, 2010 NASCAR Super Late Model race portion of the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale, CA.

SEE THE VIDEO WITH RIP’s AFTER RACE INTERVIEW BELOW.

The race was cut short, from 100 laps to 66 and was red-flagged three times because of accidents.

Michels held the lead for the final three laps of the race, and the showdown ended under a green-white-checker flag.

David Gilliland, a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, was 2nd. He was followed by Andy Allen in 3rd, Derek Thorn in 4th and Jay Sauls in 5th place.

The race was red-flagged for the third time on lap 60. Travis Thirkettle and Alex Haase crashed in Turn 3. Both drivers were running in the top five when the crash happened. Haase is a developmental driver for Kyle Busch Racing.

The race ended with Jacob Gomes spun out in Turn 4. The cars weaved through the final turn trying to avoid Gomes’ car that was stalled in the middle of the track.

Matt Crafton, a driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, finished 11th.

2nd Place Not Good Enough for Rip

Monday, January 25th, 2010

With a 2nd place finish for the 2009 Super-late Model Season, Rip Michels is looking forward to a Showdown this Friday January 29, 2010

Rip Michels, a 43 year old ironworker from Mission Hills, Calif, will compete for a breakthrough victory in the 100-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Super Late Model feature at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale (Calif.) on Friday, January 29.

That race, along with the following day’s 75-lap NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model and the headline NASCAR Camping World Series Toyota All-Star Showdown will be telecast live on SPEED. SIRIUS NASCAR Radio will also air live from the track both days.

“We’re focused on our Super Late Model effort,” said Michels, the division’s champion at the Irwindale track in 2002, 2003 and 2007. “We didn’t decide to do it until a few weeks ago. Some friends and sponsors got together and encouraged us, and I couldn’t be happier. The race being live on SPEED was a big factor.

“Our sponsor Jimmy Webster of iDevAffiliate.com became a friend and crew member,” Michels said.

iDevAffiliate Announces Sponsorship Agreement with Rip Michels Racing Team

Valencia, CA, August 18, 2009

iDevDirect is proud to announce a three race sponsorship deal with Rip Michels Racing. This sponsorship will enable Rip and his team to finish out the 2009 Super Late Model Season at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.

iDevDirect has been in business since 1999, and is celebrating their tenth year anniversary.

Based out of Valencia, Ca. iDevDirect’s flagship product is iDevAffiliate, the leading vendor of software for the affiliate marketing industry . iDevAffiliate allows companies to increase their online market penetration by allowing them to create “affiliate programs” which can result in significant sales increases for a relatively low investment.

“I really want to thank Jim Webster for giving us the opportunity to finish out the rest of the 2009 season,” said Rip Michels.

“Our team’s last race was scheduled to be on August 1, 2009, but thanks to my good friend Jimmy Babcock from Hot Rod Hobbies, he brokered the deal with Jim Webster and the great folks at IDevAffiliate. I know Jim and his staff are really excited, in fact they already are creating a web site called iDevRacing.com. In traditional RMR fashion, Jim was by the shop Monday night putting the UPGrade decals on the car for its first race.  We got a win for Hot Rod Hobbies, and another for Stock Building Supply, now if I can get a win for iDev to complete the triple, it would be very cool!”, said Rip.

“This year has been a struggle for us,” commented Rip. “I have to thank a lot of good friends who gave $100 bucks here and $100 bucks there so we could race. It is not the best way to compete, and I think our results have proven that. I guess I have been spoiled by my sponsors in the past, if we needed a part we got it. Now, we have to conserve and run mechanical parts a little longer than we would like to. Having Jim Webster and his company IDevAffiliate on board, we can at least give 100% both physically and mechanically, rather than feeling like we were coming into a fight with one hand tied behind our backs.”

“The championship may be a little out of our reach, but we’re not giving up. We’re going to take this opportunity to experiment more than we normally do, and get ready for the Showdown,” said Rip.

Rip currently sits 2nd in points with two wins in the season. He added to his all time win total by winning on August 1, 2009. Bringing his career win totals at Toyota Speedway to 59 victories.  Rip and the team are looking to capture their 60th win this coming weekend at Toyota Speedway.

“This is a unique and thrilling opportunity for iDevDirect,” said its founder, Jim Webster.

“We’re a leader in affiliate marketing software with tens of thousands of customer installations worldwide. Our product is based on the concept of performance marketing where affiliates are paid based on sales results. With this sponsorship of Rip and his team, we hope to bring together the excitement of late model car racing and the exciting new business model of affiliate marketing, to turbo charge the market further”, said Jim.
